“I think I am just going to shop, who wants to look at the buildings anyways, we have a lot to see in Bangalore”
This was me when I left to Hong Kong and I was obviously SOO SOOOO wrong…
When the flight was few minutes from landing, it looked like I was flying over a hand-made painting. Beauty was in the ships sailing amidst the little islands, well it looked little from that altitude 😛
On collecting our baggage, we hopped into a taxi and the journey from the Airport to our hotel in Tai Koo was so serene that i was dumbstruck and I did not want it to end at all. There was everything on either sides of the wide spread roads; harbor, ships, the sea, mountain ranges. It then opened to the city which is so well planned and I did not see a T of Traffic even in the peak hour. I was amazed to see the mountains peeking through the buildings and sky scrapers. It was a visual treat 🙂
There was occasional rains and city was layered with a blanket of dark clouds but that did not stop us from rushing to the first place which we had to check from the list of places in our Hong Kong bucket list, The Victoria Harbor and a ride in the Start Ferry.
The view of Victoria Harbor was splendid and we just stood there with our brains blank!
While waiting for our turn to the Ferry, I had the best vanilla ice cream from The Arome bakery Home and guys I kid you not, it was THE best Vanilla Ice cream I have had till date, the Flavor and the Texture was just out of the world!
Stepping into the Star Ferry, i was lost in the beauty of the Fantasy Land! The Rest…I would let the pictures talk…
Next on my list was a visit to SASA store at Tsim sha Tsui and of course I went crazy with overload of Korean brands and products to an extent that, it was late in the night and I was the only one in store with truck-loads of products in my shopping basket and still searching for a few more. It was like a kid who was left into a Candy Shop for the first time, all confused with zillion options and finally picks up everything! Yeah that was me 🙂
Mr. Boy who was patiently waiting till then, came to me and said “They are waiting to close the store, only if you allow them to. You can come back tomorrow, we are here for a few more days, you know!”
For that matter, by the end of the trip I visited 9 SASA stores since there is one in every corner of the road. Well, not literally but you get it! 😛
We then finally wrapped up our day with dinner at The Dog House which was an open resto pub right in front of the Victoria Harbor.
What a view and oh well, what a day and what a place!!
My thoughts were again interrupted…
“So you thought it was just buildings!”
“Well, we were talking about tomorrow’s plan 😛 “
So that was my first day at Hong Kong, the city literally left me speechless!
This was what I woke up to, the next morning 🙂
Had to catch up with some work and food before we headed out to another part of the gorgeous city!
There would be 2 more posts on HK, which will be up on the blog in a few days, Stay tuned!
Until then, stay happy and have a great week 🙂
